Third annual Be A Hero-Run4Kids 5K Race (WPLG)

DAVIE, Fla. – The entire family is invited to dress up as their favorite superhero and join the 3rd annual Be A Hero-Run4Kids 5K Race taking place Sunday, Feb 4, at the David Posnack JCC in Davie. The event, kicked off and emceed by Local 10 Chief Certified Meteorologist, Betty Davis, benefits the David Posnack JCC’s Merlie’s Giborim United and Lauren’s Kids programs.

Amateur and competitive runners, walkers, wheelchair racers and four-legged fur babies are welcome to take in the scenic course, which begins at the David Posnack JCC campus and concludes at the Miami Dolphin Blue Turf Field. The run will be professionally timed, and all participants will receive a swag bag with an official race dry-fit shirt and chipped bib. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female runners in each division.

The event will also feature a Kid’s Fun Walk, sports obstacle course, castle bounce house, live music, a superhero costume contest and a vintage police car and fire truck display, courtesy of the Craig Zinn Automotive Group. There will be special appearances by Miami Dolphins Alumni and an exciting Color Run Finale, where participants will be doused in an explosion of colors as they cross the finish line.
